Following the idea of our founders, we now offer a modular system of optomechanical components and positioners that can be used to simplify and customize applications in industry and science.
Things get exciting when we combine our expertise and develop customer-specific systems based on our standard components. Typical application examples include laser processing, sensor technology, analytics, medical technology, semiconductor technology and clean room applications in general.

With this vision, Rüdiger Ruh joined OWIS in 2018 – initially as Managing Director. The takeover then followed in 2021. Since January 1, 2021, he has been the Managing Partner of OWIS GmbH.
As an engineer (precision engineering) and with professional experience in development and management, he recognized the unique potential of the company. As a person who is enthusiastic about technology and can infect others with his enthusiasm, he revived the OWIS competencies and sharpened here and there.
Today, we at OWIS convince with a unique setup. Together we develop components and solutions for the challenging tasks of the high-tech industries and make groundbreaking ideas come true.

This fills us with pride. As a medium-sized, owner-managed company based in Staufen im Breisgau (Germany), we develop and manufacture high-precision products and solutions for industrial companies and scientific institutions worldwide.
Our strengths lie in laser technology. That is why we have been appreciated in measurement and testing technology, research and science, the semiconductor industry, biotechnology and medical technology, image processing and sensor technology, analytics and diagnostics for decades.

Photovoltaics, heat recovery, charging stations... We are constantly investing in renewable energies and energy efficiency. Since 2023, we have been part of the "Zielgerade 2030"-alliance to become climate neutral.
As a training company, we support young talents in their professional lives and qualify future technicians for their respective specialisms. We promote the health of our employees with programmes such as Hansefit and Jobbike.

It's not quite that trivial - but we want to create the best conditions for this with our commitment. In line with our forward-looking strategy, we are increasingly contributing our knowledge and experience to research into new technologies and solutions in photonics.
