OWIS inspires the next generation and taking part at Girls' Day on April 3, 2025

Promoting young talent? That's what we do! Last week, another school class visited us and experienced technology live. Did they get excited? The shining eyes speak for themselves - and next week Girls' Day is already on the agenda!
Physics lessons with a difference
At OWIS, we live and breathe technology - and technology has to be experienced, not just explained. That's why we had a visit from 24 pupils and two teachers from Year 8 at Johanniterschule Heitersheim last week.
It all started at 8:45 in the morning: After a brief warm-up with Managing Director Rüdiger Ruh, Anna Schillinger, Assistant to the Managing Director and organizer of the day, explained the exciting apprenticeships we offer: Industrial Clerk and Machine and Plant Operator.
Then it was time to split up! One half was given a guided tour of production and assembly. For the other half, it was time for action: the OWIS laser game. Prism, mirror, converging lens - what might otherwise sound dry was real fun. We were particularly impressed by one schoolboy who got the laser beam to the target faster than we could see.
At the end there were OWIS souvenirs and beaming faces - a day couldn't end any better. We're already looking forward to Girls' Day on April 3, 2025 and introducing the girls to the exciting world of technology!
